Support worker availability: Some clients may not have their own support worker but still need assistance once they reach their destination. In these cases we can supply a support worker – the driver’s role is to safely load, drive, and unload, while the support worker assists you at your destination. Time spent by the support worker at the destination is billed at the same hourly rates shown in the table above.

Waiting time: If the driver needs to wait for you (for example, during an appointment), this is billed at the same hourly rate as above, charged in 15-minute increments: $17.56 per 15 min on weekdays, $24.71 per 15 min on Saturdays, and $31.86 per 15 min on Sundays.

Worked examples

Example 1: Driver only, a 2-hour weekday trip covering 35km each way (70km total return distance). Labour: 2 hrs x $70.23 = $140.46. Vehicle: 70km x $2.76 = $193.20. Total: $333.66.

Example 2: Driver only, a 1-hour Saturday trip covering 20km each way (40km total return distance). Labour: 1 hr x $98.83 = $98.83. Vehicle: 40km x $2.76 = $110.40. Total: $209.23.

Example 3: Driver only, a 3-hour Sunday trip covering 10km each way (20km total return distance). Labour: 3 hrs x $127.43 = $382.29. Vehicle: 20km x $2.76 = $55.20. Total: $437.49.

Example 4: Same weekday trip as Example 1 (2 hrs driving, 35km each way), but the client also needs a support worker for 1 hour at the destination, and the driver waits 30 minutes (2 x 15-min blocks) on top of that. Driver + vehicle (as Example 1): $333.66. Support worker: 1 hr x $70.23 = $70.23. Waiting time: 2 x $17.56 = $35.12. Total: $439.01.

Note on provider status: Barwon Mobility currently operates as an unregistered NDIS provider, which means we can support self-managed and plan-managed participants. From January 2027, NDIS pricing arrangements will apply a 10% rate reduction for unregistered providers, and our rates will be updated accordingly at that time.

Plan management: We work with both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. If you are not sure how your plan works, we are happy to help you figure it out – just get in touch.
